Domestic Sites

All of our volunteer sites work for the empowerment of women, adolescents, and children.  Our domestic placements include education, foster care, youth counseling, domestic violence, juvenile justice, and public policy in New York City; Los Angeles, California; and Wickatunk, New Jersey.  All placements share in common the Good Shepherd Mission to minister to women, children, and adolescents in situations of poverty and neglect. Within that overall mission, GSV site placements have a wide variety of working environments, service opportunities, and populations served.

Volunteers serving in both California and New Jersey will be living within walking distance of their service site. Volunteers serving in New York will be living in the Washington Heights neighborhood. Volunteers will use New York transit to travel to and from work provided by GSV.

Where do you feel called to serve? Learn more by selecting a link at left to review our site descriptions and typical GSV roles.
