How to Get Involved
The Good Shepherd network is made strong by the dedicated involvement of our partners. Among them, our robust network of alumni provides guidance and mentorship to the next generation, playing an integral part in shaping the future of Good Shepherd Volunteers. Our alumni find connection and new opportunities through one another, passing their mentorship on by shepherding the next cohort of GSVs. Alumni continue to stay engaged through participation in events, through board membership or guest opportunities at program retreats, or even virtually through one-on-one connections with prospective applicants or as a virtual champion for recruitment or fundraising. Each alum's skills and experience are invaluable, and they continue to grow through new applications in partnership with GSV. The GSV experience doesn't end with the last day of service—it continues through a lifetime of support.

Now, more than ever, this community can combine efforts on a united front. Good Shepherd Volunteers will remain an option, even as service orgs around the country close or are faced with the prospect of merging. This page invites you to consider reengaging your formation with community, simplicity, spirituality and social justice through connection with prospective and incoming volunteers. This year, we hope you'll join us in prioritizing recruitment, growing our numbers to pre-pandemic levels so that the GSV program may shepherd many cohorts to come. We know our alumni bring a diverse skillset, and we invite you to join the effort however suits you best.
