"A moment that stands out from my time at GSV is actually a series of moments that took place during retreats in Nyack, New York. The retreats provided us with an opportunity to interact with other volunteers and reflect on our work and practices. The retreats were a form of community that helped remind me of why being a Good Shepherd Volunteer mattered and what roles that volunteers could play in each of the communities in which they worked."

Three program alumni come together to join GSV in reflecting on the life, service, and lasting impact of Sr. Anne Kelley, RGS, former Director and CEO of the Good Shepherd Shelter in Los Angeles, California.

"I remember the people most; dedicated, caring, full of zeal. I loved meeting prospective volunteers and being able to shepherd new volunteers into the program. ... As the volunteer year went on, you could really see the growth happening in each community and they began to understand more deeply what they were committed to, and how their experiences were shaping them and their work."
